Tidal Frame Residence
Type
Residential / Waterfront Pavilion
This project explores a minimalist architectural language applied to a waterfront setting, where solid and transparent elements are carefully balanced. The main structure is composed of rectilinear exposed concrete volumes intersected by fully glazed spaces, creating a strong visual contrast while maintaining openness toward the landscape.
The layout is organized along a linear timber boardwalk that extends over the water, acting as both circulation and an experiential spine connecting multiple pavilions. Each space is oriented to maximize views, natural ventilation, and daylight penetration.
Materiality plays a key role in defining the atmosphere:
Exposed concrete provides mass and permanence
Floor-to-ceiling glass enhances transparency and reflections
Timber decking introduces warmth and human scale
Landscape elements, particularly palm trees and integrated planters, soften the geometry and connect the built form to its tropical context
The project is designed to create a calm, immersive environment where architecture, water, and light interact seamlessly. The result is a tranquil retreat that blurs the boundary between indoor and outdoor living while maintaining a strong, modern identity.
